Zinc and chromium: the foundation of the formula
Two of the actives carry the only authorised health wording in the formula. They are the foundation on which what is in Corevalin is built:
Zinc5.5 mg · 55% NRV
Zinc contributes to normal carbohydrate metabolism.
Chromium50 µg · 125% NRV
Chromium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels.
Zinc is present at 5.5 mg, which is 55% of the nutrient reference value (NRV), and chromium at 50 µg, or 125% of the NRV. Both minerals are in every capsule. The NRV percentages are the standard reference figures used on supplement labels, so you can compare them with any other product on the shelf.
What is in Corevalin besides the minerals: the eight botanicals
Around the two minerals sit eight plant-based actives from European, Mediterranean and Asian herbal traditions. The largest are alpha-lipoic acid at 75 mg and green tea extract at 75 mg, standardised to 50% EGCG. Berberine from Berberis aristata and milk thistle extract, standardised to 80% silymarin, follow at 50 mg each.
Resveratrol is included at 20 mg. The smallest amounts are cayenne at 2.5 mg (40,000 H.U.), Korean ginseng at 2.5 mg (standardised to 8% ginsenosides) and banaba leaf at 1 mg (standardised to 2% corosolic acid). We describe these as traditionally used plant extracts and attach no further health promises to them.
The standardisation figures matter because they tell you what proportion of each extract is the named compound, which is how a label should be read. If a product only names a plant and gives no dose or strength, you cannot tell what you are getting.
- Ten actives, each dose listed
- No proprietary blends and no stimulants
- Standardised extracts with the strength stated
The capsule and what is left out
The capsule shell is hypromellose, a plant-derived material, which is why Corevalin is vegan. There are no artificial colours and no artificial fillers listed, and the formula contains no stimulants. Everything on the label can be read and compared.
How you take it is covered on the dosage and side effects page, and our view on the blood-glucose wording is on blood sugar and diabetes. That gives you the whole picture: the ingredients here, the routine there, and the price on the buying page.
